The National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced that measures to revise bus fares will be implemented today (22).
According to reports, the necessary calculations are currently underway to finalize the new fare structure.
Despite several previous fuel price increases, bus fares had not been revised until now.
Meanwhile, the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) stated that a minimum fare increase of around 15% is expected.
The association noted that diesel prices rose by 31% from midnight yesterday (21), prompting the need for a fare adjustment.
