The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has reaffirmed its commitment to identifying vendors selling rice above the maximum retail price (MRP) through ongoing islandwide raids.
According to the CAA, the MRP for different rice varieties is as follows:
- Nadu rice – Rs. 230 per kg
- Kekulu rice – Rs. 220 per kg
- Samba rice – Rs. 240 per kg
- Keeri Samba rice – Rs. 260 per kg
The authority confirmed that its officers are actively conducting inspections today as part of the enforcement efforts.
