Cabinet Approves Import of 30,000 Metric Tons of Salt to Address Market Shortage

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the import of up to 30,000 metric tons of non-iodized salt to mitigate the ongoing shortage in the market.

Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, announced that the State Trading Corporation has been authorized to procure the required stocks, with a deadline set for import completion by January 31, 2025.
