The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the establishment of a Political Consultation Mechanism aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
Diplomatic relations between the partners were formally established in 1954, with 2026 marking the 72nd anniversary of their relationship. Over the decades, cooperation has steadily expanded across political, economic, social, cultural, and educational spheres.
The proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) seeks to enhance collaboration in key areas including politics, the economy, education, environmental protection, consular affairs, and culture. It also aims to facilitate regular dialogue on regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
The Cabinet resolution was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, highlighting the government’s commitment to deepening diplomatic engagement and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation.
