Former UNP National Secretary MP Ravi Karunanayake emphasized the critical importance of fiscal discipline for a country’s economic stability, urging the Cabinet to take strong and decisive measures to sustain a robust economy.
Speaking during the 2025 budget debate in Parliament, MP Karunanayake highlighted that the primary goal of a budget is to ease financial pressures on the people.
“The Ministry of Finance had a team of highly capable officials. We recognize the skillful efforts of Mr. Mahinda Siriwardena and his team in preparing the budget,” he remarked.
