The Ceylon Fisheries Corporation has announced plans to expand its network of fish sales outlets across major cities in Sri Lanka, aiming to improve consumer access to fresh, high-quality seafood.
As of last year, the Corporation had established 87 outlets in key urban areas, serving as an important distribution channel for affordable and hygienic fish products.
According to officials, efforts are currently underway to open additional outlets in 2025, strengthening the Corporation’s presence and ensuring broader accessibility to fisheries products for the general public.
The expansion is part of a broader strategy to promote food security, support the local fisheries sector, and stabilize market prices through direct-to-consumer sales.
