China has affirmed its commitment to collaborate closely with the Sri Lanka Customs Department to bolster safety, security, and cooperation. Vice Minister Wang Lingjun of the General Administration of Customs of China unveiled a comprehensive three-step plan during discussions with Sri Lankan customs officials, alongside State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe, earlier today.
Lingjun underscored China’s ongoing implementation of the Smart Customs Project, designed to foster collaboration with customs authorities worldwide via a unified platform. He reiterated China’s dedication to delivering positive outcomes for Sri Lanka, including support through the Single Window system to enhance operational efficiency, mutual understanding, and security.
Additionally, Lingjun expressed China’s readiness to sponsor customs initiatives within Sri Lanka, emphasizing a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
Minister Shehan Semasinghe voiced confidence that these collaborative efforts would further solidify the enduring partnership between China and Sri Lanka.
