Deputy Commissioner Among Three Further Remanded Over Rs. 4.2 Million Bribery Allegation

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has extended the remand of three individuals, including a Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Motor Traffic, over allegations of accepting bribes totaling nearly Rs. 4.2 million. Colombo Chief Magistrate Tanuja Lakmali issued the order after reviewing submissions by CIABOC and defense attorneys. The suspects will remain in custody until June 20, as investigations into the high-profile corruption case continue.
