Parliament has clarified that the inclusion of the title ‘Dr.’ before Minister Harshana Nanayakkara’s name on its official website was a technical error.
The media had reported that the title ‘Dr.’ was briefly displayed in front of Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara’s name before being removed, sparking controversy.
In a statement addressing the issue, Parliament explained that the title ‘Dr.’ was not mentioned in the resume submitted by the minister.
The error has since been corrected.
Parliament further announced that it will conduct a comprehensive review of the details of all Members of Parliament to prevent similar mistakes in the future.
