Dubai-based Dubal Holding L.L.C. has expressed interest in investing in a large-scale titanium production project in Sri Lanka by utilizing the country’s mineral sand resources.
A high-level delegation led by Ahmed bin Fahad, Chief Executive Officer of Dubal Holding, met with the Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development to discuss the proposed investment during a meeting held at the Ministry.
According to officials, Dubal Holding plans to implement the project in partnership with the state-owned Lanka Mineral Sands Company.
During the discussions, the Minister informed the company representatives to promptly submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) under the investment process already initiated by the government for the proposed titanium production project.
The proposed investment is expected to enhance value addition to Sri Lanka’s mineral resources, strengthen the country’s industrial sector, and attract greater foreign direct investment into the manufacturing industry.
