The Election Commission is set to meet today (27), with a decision on the date of the Local Government (LG) Elections expected during the discussion.
According to a recent gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, newly elected local government bodies are scheduled to convene for the first time on June 2, 2025.
Election Commission sources indicate that the LG Elections are likely to be held either at the end of April or in the first week of May.
