The Department of Meteorology announced that atmospheric conditions are favorable for evening thundershowers over the next few days in the Northern, North-Central, Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces.
Showers or thundershowers are expected in several areas of these provinces, as well as in the Hambantota district, after 1.00 p.m. today (22).
Fairly heavy rainfall of about 50 mm is likely in some locations within these regions.
The public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimize the risk of damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
