The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a four-hour water supply interruption in several areas of the Kandy District today (22) to facilitate essential maintenance work at the Kandy Main Water Supply Project.
According to the NWSDB, water supply will be suspended from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. in the Rajapihilla, Medawala (Old), Medawala (New), Galagedara and Mawatagama service areas.
The affected locations include a number of residential areas served by these water supply schemes, including parts of Rajapihilla, Medawala, Galagedara, Mawatagama and their surrounding areas.
The NWSDB has advised residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance to meet their essential needs during the interruption.
The Board also apologised for the inconvenience caused and said the temporary suspension is necessary to complete essential maintenance work on the water supply system.
