Litro Gas Lanka Ltd has announced that another vessel carrying 3,700 metric tons of LP gas is scheduled to arrive in the island today.
Chairman of Litro Gas, Channa Gunawardena, stated that with this latest shipment, the total volume of LP gas imported during the current month has exceeded 28,000 metric tons.
The company confirmed that distribution of the newly arrived stock will commence tomorrow morning. In addition, Litro has increased its daily market release from 1,200 metric tons to 1,700 metric tons in a bid to ease supply pressures.
Meanwhile, Laugfs Gas PLC reported that a vessel carrying 3,500 metric tons of LP gas is expected to reach the island tomorrow.
Chief Executive Officer of Laugfs Gas, Nalinda Kurukulasuriya, said the loading process for the vessel is currently underway in the Maldives.
He further noted that four additional vessels have already been ordered to ensure a steady and uninterrupted supply of LP gas to consumers.
The developments come amid efforts by both major suppliers to stabilize the domestic market and address recent shortages.
