United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s response to the recent power outage.
Speaking at a media briefing, Karunanayake criticized the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), stating that it was unprepared for such an unexpected disruption.
“The first issue I want to highlight is the state of the Electricity Board. I am not satisfied with the response given at this time. It is evident that the board was unprepared for an incident like this. If an innocent consumer fails to pay the bill for two weeks, their electricity is immediately disconnected. But when such large-scale failures occur, who takes responsibility?” he questioned.
