Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake has urged the government to take immediate action to curb the rising wave of crimes reported across the country.
Speaking to the media, the MP said it is the government’s responsibility to ensure public safety and restore law and order without delay.
He expressed concern that some of those killed in recent incidents were innocent individuals with no involvement in criminal activity.
He further stressed that the public has entrusted the government with the authority and responsibility to prevent such acts and protect the lives of citizens.
