The government has called for international competitive bids to supply 900,000 vials of 1-gram Merapanam vaccine, used for treating acute bacterial infections, and 9,000 vials of 40 mg Tenecteplase vaccine, which helps prevent deaths from heart attacks.
Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayathissa informed the media that five bids had been received for the Merapanam vaccine procurement. Following a review, the Standing Procurement Committee, appointed by the Cabinet, recommended awarding the contract to M/s Genix Pharma (Pvt) Ltd of Pakistan, the lowest satisfactory responsive bidder.
Meanwhile, for the Tenecteplase vaccine procurement, three bids were received, with the Committee recommending M/s ABC Pharma Services (Pvt) Ltd as the lowest satisfactory responsive bidder for both procurements.
