In view of the prevailing disaster situation across the country and the upcoming festive season, the government has decided to provide a one-time nutritional allowance of Rs. 5,000 to pregnant mothers.
The allowance will be granted to mothers who registered at maternity clinics on or before 30 November 2025.
According to the announcement, the distribution of the allowance will commence on 16 December, and payments will be made through Divisional Secretariats under a programme implemented by the National Secretariat for Early Childhood Development, which functions under the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.
