Government to Revise Public Service Oath Under ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ Initiative

The government has announced amendments to the Oath of the Public Service, effective January 1, 2025, aligning with the launch of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ program.

This initiative, spearheaded by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, aims to drive transformative changes focused on strengthening social and economic sustainability while improving the efficiency of government operations.

The ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ program will officially commence with a launch ceremony at the President’s Office on January 1. The initiative will be overseen by an 18-member Presidential Task Force appointed by the President to ensure its smooth implementation and success.

The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government confirmed the alignment of the oath revision with this landmark program. This change signifies a commitment to fostering transparency, accountability, and a progressive public service framework in Sri Lanka.
