The Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka says the prevailing showery conditions across Sri Lanka are expected to continue over the next few days due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance near the island.
According to the Department, showers or thundershowers are expected in most parts of the country after 1:00 p.m.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
Morning showers are also expected in parts of the Eastern and Northern provinces.
The Department further noted that misty conditions may occur during the early morning hours in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces and in the Kurunegala district.
The public has been advised to take precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
