The Department of Meteorology forecasts several spells of showers in the Northern and Eastern provinces. Showers or thundershowers are also expected in several other areas during the evening or night.
Fairly heavy showers of about 75mm are likely in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts.
In addition, showers may occur in the coastal areas of the Western province and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Misty conditions are expected in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces in the morning.
The general public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damages caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
