The Colombo High Court today (28) issued notice to consider the revision petition filed by former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who is seeking to suspend the arrest warrant issued against him by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
Senaratne’s legal team had also requested an interim order to halt the warrant. However, the High Court declined to grant such relief, clarifying that only notice has been issued to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), which is cited as the respondent in the case.
Appearing on behalf of the former Minister, President’s Counsel Kalinga Indatissa told the court that Senaratne would comply with the notice and appear before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (29).
The High Court scheduled the petition to be taken up again on September 10.
