Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party, MP Ravi Karunanayake, says that if government revenue has increased, those benefits must be passed on to the people.
Speaking to the media, he noted that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe implemented policies aimed at boosting state revenue, and the positive outcomes of those measures are now becoming visible.
Karunanayake added that the current government’s actions must be carefully evaluated, acknowledging that some steps taken are worthy of appreciation even from the opposition.
He emphasized that while revenue growth is commendable, the government must ensure that the resulting benefits reach the public in the form of meaningful relief.
