The Excise Department’s Special Investigation Unit has seized 2,030,000 sticks of illegally imported cigarettes, valued at approximately Rs. 330 million, in the Wellampitiya area.
Five suspects were arrested in connection with the contraband, including three employees of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, the Excise Department confirmed.
