Visiting First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dr. Gita Gopinath, met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo for high-level discussions on Sri Lanka’s economic progress and reform agenda.
During the meeting, President Dissanayake reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering new investments and advancing a people-focused economic policy framework. He outlined the government’s intention to drive inclusive growth while ensuring fiscal discipline and structural stability.
Dr. Gopinath commended Sri Lanka’s recent progress in implementing key economic reforms, emphasizing the importance of sustaining reform momentum. She noted that continued dedication to the IMF-supported programme is essential to achieving long-term economic stability and shared prosperity for all Sri Lankans.
