Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, has pledged India’s unwavering support for the development of sports in Sri Lanka.
During a meeting with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage, held yesterday (January 6) at the ministry premises, High Commissioner Jha highlighted India’s readiness to assist in conducting sports development programs across the island. Special emphasis was placed on promoting cricket and fostering other sports activities.
The High Commissioner also expressed aspirations to strengthen bilateral ties in the domain of youth affairs, recognizing the shared opportunities presented by the young population in both countries.
In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the Indian High Commission noted that discussions centered on exploring potential avenues for deepening cooperation in youth and sports development between the two nations.
