A 43-year-old Indian national was arrested yesterday at Bandaranaike International Airport in possession of over 10 kilograms of Kush, valued at approximately Rs. 105 million.
The suspect, a salesman at a footwear shop in New Delhi, reportedly purchased the drugs in Bangkok, Thailand, and transported them to Katunayake via Air India flight AI-277, connecting through New Delhi.
Customs officials discovered the drugs packed in 19 separate parcels, using the newly installed scanning machine at the airport.
