Nalandians have always been at the forefront of serving our beloved motherland. For over three decades, amidst the brutal terrorism that claimed countless lives, destroyed property, and spread fear across Sri Lanka, they stood as proud contributors to the mission of liberating our nation.
The freedom and peaceful life we enjoy today were built by them. They sacrificed their youthful years for us — leaving behind loving parents, devoted wives, and children — to safeguard the country we call home.
With the theme of paying our highest tribute to their sacrifice, this year too, the Nalanda War Heroes Tribute will be held in front of the Nalanda War Heroes Memorial. Nalanda Ranaviru Upahara 2025 is scheduled to commence on Thursday, 11th September at 8:00 AM.
Organised continuously for over 25 years, this year’s event will be held under the leadership of the current Principal of Nalanda College, Mr. Iran Champika Silva, and is proudly organised by the Nalanda Junior Old Boys’ Association (NJOBA).
As Nalanda celebrates its Centenary Year, the Nalanda Junior Old Boys’ Association proudly extends its invitation to all Nalandians currently serving in the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force, and Police, as well as those who are retired to join Nalanda Ranaviru Upahara 2025, honouring the 41 brave Nalandians who laid down their lives and those who were left disabled in service to the nation.
