Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Sunday that its Aerospace Force launched ballistic missiles at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, claiming the attack destroyed the base’s command and control centre and hangars housing MQ-9 drones.
According to the IRGC, the missile strike was carried out in retaliation for recent U.S. airstrikes targeting several Iranian coastal military bases and communication towers along the country’s southern coastline.
The IRGC stated that the operation was a direct response to what it described as U.S. military aggression against Iranian positions.
No immediate confirmation has been issued by Jordan or the United States regarding the extent of the reported damage or the IRGC’s claims.
