Ceylon Workers’ Congress General Secretary and Member of Parliament Jeevan Thondaman, who is currently on an official visit to India, met with Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
During the meeting, he expressed his gratitude for India’s continued support to Sri Lanka in overcoming the severe economic challenges of recent years. He stressed that India’s assistance remains vital for stabilizing Sri Lanka at this critical juncture.
The discussions also covered the diverse forms of support extended by India, including financial aid, credit lines, and development cooperation.
Following the meeting, MP Thondaman described the talks as highly productive and underscored the need to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
