Justice of the Supreme Court, Anthony Lalith Shiran Gooneratne, was sworn in as the Acting Chief Justice before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake this morning (22) at the Presidential Secretariat, the President’s Media Division (PMD) announced.
The appointment was made following Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena’s overseas travel from 22 to 27 November 2025. Justice Gooneratne will serve in the post until the Chief Justice returns to Sri Lanka.
