The Department of Meteorology has forecasted several spells of light showers today (10) in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts.
Additionally, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Northern Province and in the Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts after 2:00 p.m.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage from localized strong winds and lightning associated with the thundershowers.
