Litro Gas Lanka announced that 3,700 metric tonnes of LP gas will be released to the local market today.
Litro Chairman Channa Gunawardena stated that a total of 7,900 metric tonnes of gas has recently been brought into the country.
He added that 38,000 metric tonnes of gas have been requested for the month of March, while an additional 30,000 metric tonnes are currently stored in the Maldives.
Gunawardena further noted that another vessel carrying 33,000 metric tonnes of gas, which has already been ordered, is scheduled to arrive in the Maldives on March 17.
Meanwhile, Laugfs Gas CEO Nalinda Kurukulasuriya said the company is currently distributing the 3,700 metric tonnes of gas brought to the island by a vessel that arrived recently.
