Madonna, Shakira and BTS to Perform at FIFA World Cup Final Half-Time Show

May 17, 2026

A special concert featuring global music stars is set to take place during the half-time break of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final, marking the first time a World Cup final will feature a Super Bowl-style half-time show.

The final is scheduled to be held in New Jersey on July 19.

According to reports, American pop icon Madonna, Colombian superstar Shakira, and South Korean boy band BTS are expected to headline the performance.

Shakira is also expected to perform the official song for both the 2010 and 2026 FIFA World Cups.

FIFA stated that the event aims to raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizenship Education Fund.

The promotional campaign for the event reportedly carries the slogan:
“The world’s biggest stage, an even bigger purpose.”

Gianni Infantino also confirmed the event online, stating:

“The FIFA World Cup 2026 final half-time show will be a truly special occasion, bringing together music, football and a shared commitment to improving the lives of children around the world.”

The exact duration of the performance has not yet been officially confirmed, although some reports suggest it could last approximately 11 minutes.

If implemented, the extended show could result in a longer half-time interval than the standard 15-minute break traditionally used in football matches.

Unlike events such as the Super Bowl, halftime entertainment and musical performances are relatively rare in international football tournaments, where broadcasters usually use the interval for match analysis and advertisements.
