Major General Nilantha Premaratne of the Sri Lanka Artillery has been appointed as the 69th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army.
According to reports, the appointment came into effect from yesterday (29).
Major General Premaratne assumes the position as one of the senior-most officers in the Army leadership structure and is expected to play a key role in military administration and operational oversight.
He represents the Sri Lanka Artillery regiment and takes over the role at a time when the military continues to focus on institutional development, operational readiness, and national security responsibilities.
