Manusha Nanayakkara Denies Allegations, Claims No Involvement in Brother’s Foreign Employment Scandal

Former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara has addressed allegations surrounding his brother’s arrest in a foreign employment scandal, asserting that he was the one who initially lodged the complaint against his brother during his tenure as minister.

Speaking at the United National Party headquarters, Nanayakkara distanced himself from his brother’s actions, emphasizing his efforts to educate the public against paying third parties for foreign employment opportunities.

Dismissing media reports claiming he had fled the country, Nanayakkara affirmed his readiness to face any situation, stating, “I have done nothing wrong.”

Highlighting his achievements as minister, he noted that his ministry generated over $13 billion in foreign employment income for Sri Lanka in two years. He described allegations of his involvement in the scandal as baseless and reiterated his commitment to transparency and accountability.
