The Meteorology Department has predicted the persistence of rainy conditions today in the Northern, Eastern, Uva, Central, and Southern provinces, accompanied by cloudy skies across most parts of the island.
Intermittent showers are expected in the Northern, Eastern, Uva, Central, Southern, and North-central provinces, with the likelihood of heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm at certain locations.
In other regions of the island, showers are anticipated during the morning hours, followed by showers or thundershowers at various locations after 1.00 p.m. The public is urged to exercise caution and take necessary precautions to minimize potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
