The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka says most flights to and from the Middle East continue to face delays due to the ongoing conflict in the region.
Director General Daminda Rambukwella stated that only around four flights were operated yesterday.
He noted that a review of arrivals and departures showed a significant drop in flight operations, with only a limited number of flights able to operate.
These included a SalamAir flight that arrived and departed, as well as services operated by Etihad Airways and SriLankan Airlines.
Rambukwella added that many foreign carriers have cancelled their scheduled flights due to the closure of several airports and restrictions on airspace in the region, reflecting the continuing tense situation.
