Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked the world’s most popular global leader, with an approval rating of 68%, according to a survey by U.S.-based data analytics firm Morning Consult.
The survey found that 26% of respondents disapproved of Modi, while around 6% did not express an opinion.
Morning Consult stated that the latest rankings are based on data collected between March 2 and March 8, 2026, using a seven-day moving average of public opinion in each country surveyed.
Modi had also topped the same rankings last year with a higher approval rating of 75%.
Earlier this year, he became the first global political leader to surpass 100 million followers on Instagram, highlighting his strong digital presence.
Since joining the platform in 2014, his account has grown into one of the most widely followed and engaged among world leaders.
