No Bus or Three-Wheeler Fare Reduction Despite Fuel Price Cuts, Says NTC

The National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced that there will be no revision in bus fares despite the recent drop in diesel prices.

Acting Director General Naomi Jayawardena stated that the fuel price difference between the last fare revision and current rates is less than 4%, and has already been factored in. As such, a fare adjustment is not being considered.

As of midnight yesterday, the price of Auto Diesel was reduced by Rs. 12 to Rs. 274 per liter, while Super Diesel saw a Rs. 6 reduction, bringing it to Rs. 325 per liter.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) also announced petrol price cuts: Octane 92 was reduced by Rs. 6 to Rs. 293 per liter, and Octane 95 by Rs. 20 to Rs. 341 per liter.

Meanwhile, the All Island Three Wheeler Drivers Union stated that there will be no change in three-wheeler fares despite the decrease in petrol prices.
