Director-General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena has assured that there is no shortage of imported medicines in the country.
He stated that medicines imported from Iran are also sufficiently available, noting that Sri Lanka currently imports around 15 types of medicines from Iran, including antibiotics and insulin.
Dr. Gunawardena added that existing stocks are sufficient for at least six months.
He further noted that if required, arrangements can be made to import these medicines from alternative countries.
