The Department of Meteorology has reported that Northeast monsoon conditions are gradually establishing over the island.

Expected showers: Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces.

Heavy rainfall: Up to 75 mm at some locations in Batticaloa district.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several other areas after 1:00 p.m.

Misty conditions expected in the early morning at some locations in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces.
The public is advised to take precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
