Showery weather is expected to intensify over the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern provinces from tonight. Intermittent showers are likely across the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces.
Fairly heavy rainfall, exceeding 50 mm, is expected in some areas of the Batticaloa and Ampara districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur in several other parts of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Misty conditions can be expected in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces during the early morning hours.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
