Opposition Leaders to Discuss Middle East Crisis at Parliament

March 3, 2026

A special discussion among opposition party leaders on the prevailing military situation in the Middle East is scheduled to take place today (03 March) at the Parliament complex.

The meeting is set to be held this morning at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition under the leadership of Sajith Premadasa.

According to reports, the discussion will focus on issues affecting Sri Lankans employed in the Middle East region, particularly those impacted by the ongoing conflict.

Opposition leaders are also expected to deliberate on the broader implications for Sri Lanka, including potential economic and security concerns, and to communicate their observations and recommendations to the government.

The meeting comes amid growing concerns over the impact of escalating tensions in the Middle East on Sri Lanka’s migrant workforce and overall economic stability.
