Opposition Members of Parliament have begun signing a no-confidence motion against Minister of Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
A discussion regarding the motion was held this morning under the leadership of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa at his office in Parliament.
According to opposition MPs, the decision to move the no-confidence motion stems from what they describe as serious shortcomings in the government’s current education reforms. These include the inclusion of content they deem unsuitable for children, numerous factual and subject-related errors, and the failure of the Ministry to address these issues in a proper and systematic manner.
