The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has announced that 3,147 new recruits to Sri Lanka’s nursing service will officially receive their letters of appointment tomorrow (24 May) during a special ceremony.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the main conference hall of Temple Trees.
According to a statement from the Ministry, this is the first time such a large number of nursing appointments will be issued simultaneously, marking a significant milestone in the country’s healthcare sector.
In addition to the new appointments, 79 nursing officers serving in the special grade of the nursing service will also receive promotions.
The ceremony will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya. Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa will be in attendance, along with the Secretary to the Ministry, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, and several other senior officials.
