Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, said on Friday that the country’s armed forces are fully capable of crushing any aggressive ambitions, following air strikes on neighbouring Afghanistan.
“Our forces have the full capability to crush any aggressive ambitions,” Sharif said in a statement shared on the Pakistani government’s official X (formerly Twitter) page.
“The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan armed forces,” he added.
The remarks came amid heightened tensions in the region after reports of cross-border air strikes.
