An adjournment motion on the current situation in Sri Lanka, to be moved by the government, is scheduled to be debated in Parliament tomorrow (08).
According to the Secretary General of Parliament, Kushani Rohanadeera, Parliament will convene as decided at the Committee on Parliamentary Business meeting chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.
The day’s proceedings will begin with Business of Parliament from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by Questions for Oral Answers until 10:30 a.m., and Questions under Standing Order 27(2) until 11:00 a.m.
The adjournment debate is set to take place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that there will be no changes to parliamentary business scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
It was also decided that the second parliamentary week of April will not be held in view of the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival.
