Police have launched investigations to apprehend the suspects involved in the murder of political activist Dan Priyasad.
According to police, multiple investigation teams have been deployed to probe the incident.
Dan Priyasad sustained critical injuries last night following a shooting carried out by two unidentified individuals inside an apartment complex in Salamulla, Kolonnawa. He was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
The 39-year-old, a resident of Meethotamulla in Wellampitiya, was attacked by suspects who arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire using a pistol-type firearm, police said.
His body is currently placed at the mortuary of the Colombo National Hospital.
