Sri Lanka Police say a comprehensive traffic and security plan has been implemented for today’s (15) ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match between India national cricket team and Pakistan national cricket team, scheduled to begin at 7.00 p.m. at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
According to the Police Media Division, all essential arrangements relating to public safety, traffic management, parking facilities, and alternative routes have been finalized to ensure the convenience and safety of spectators.
The Sri Lanka Police, together with the Sri Lanka Police Special Task Force, the Tri-Forces, and intelligence agencies, are jointly executing the security and traffic management operation. Around 2,000 police officers and nearly 600 traffic personnel have been deployed for the event.
All stadium gates will open to the public at 3.00 p.m. Police confirmed that tickets are completely sold out, and only ticket holders will be allowed entry. Members of the public without tickets are advised to watch the match from home via television broadcasts and to avoid gathering around the stadium premises.
Foreign visitors and local supporters are requested to enjoy the match with discipline, mutual respect, and harmony.
Stadium Entry Rules
Spectators are requested not to bring plastic or glass bottles into the stadium, as adequate drinking water facilities have been arranged inside. Police will strictly act against anyone found intoxicated, disorderly, or behaving inappropriately.

Vehicle Access and Parking
Police said no vehicles will be permitted to enter via Keththarama Mawatha junction or from Wilson Perera Mawatha to the Babapulle Place junction without a valid permit issued by the cricket authorities. Only authorized vehicles with permits will be allowed access.

Traffic restrictions will be enforced along Vinson Perera Mawatha, Grandpass Road, Babapulle Road, Sebastian Ela Road, the Melwatte Bridge entrance to the stadium, Adi 100 Para, Temple Road junction entrance, Maligawatte Lane, the side road entrance to the stadium, and from the Saddharma Mawatha–Temple Road (Khettarama Road) junction to Temple Road.
Routine CCTV monitoring, body inspections, and vehicle checks will be conducted prior to the match to ensure the safety of all attendees.
Sri Lanka Police have requested the public to extend their fullest cooperation to law enforcement and security personnel to help ensure a safe and smooth match day.
